The Lihini House is a private, contemporary, and ecologically friendly villa on Koggala Lake in Southern Sri Lanka, close to the famed town of Galle. It was designed by an architect. A peaceful and picturesque property that is only a short distance from Galle's bustle, close to the Indian Ocean, and reachable to many surrounding tourist attractions. Enjoy the tropical garden, eat crab and prawns from the lake, watch the fishermen drift by, and live life more slowly.

The Lihini House can be rented. It has a superb cook who will cook Sri Lankan or European meals, two house boys, night security, and a gardener. The house can accommodate two or ten guests, and either option is completely pleasant. We can sometimes accommodate 12 people. The open sitting and dining room has views of the swimming pool and the lake beyond.

The villa is a contemporary home built using Sri Lankan craftsmen and materials. It has been designed to be as energy efficient and low-impact as possible and uses the natural breeze from the sea and lake to cool the house, supplemented with ceiling fans, rather than air conditioning. THIS WORKS! Water is heated using solar power - and solar powers some of the outdoor lighting too.

There are four double bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom, three of which have outdoor showers. On request, a second twin-bedded room with an en suite bathroom is available. There is a big open-plan dining, lounging, and gaming room with views of the pool and lake. The swimming pool is great for exercise and recreation, and it is surrounded by a seating and sunbathing area. Private yoga instruction are available. There is a massage room, but you may also get a treatment in one of the calm places surrounding the garden and pool. Table tennis is another option for more rigorous activity. Tuk tuks can be easily rented, as can a car and driver for the duration of your visit.

The residence is conveniently located near Colombo International Airport. We can meet guests at the airport in an air-conditioned limo, or you can fly by seaplane and land on the lake. We have our own boat for lake trips.
