Description
Shady House is a rustic villa in Thalaramba, a charming fishing village just a 5-minute drive from Mirissa and also the latest addition to our luxurious villas in Sri Lanka portfolio. The villa's almost poetic name comes from spear grass, also known as 'iluk.' Timber and iluk—the combination that combines the necessary lumber with the deciduous spear grass—keep the glory of its entire roof in shape. This interior installment makes vacationing under the Shady House roof cosy, exotic, and one-of-a-kind.
The owners wanted to create something that gives the comfort and warmth of a home away from home because it is a family-owned business. The Illuk House is located 50 meters from the Indian Ocean's tip and is surrounded by swaying coconut palms and breathtaking waterfronts, with every common space facing the ocean. The newly established villa in 2021 is reminiscent of a home-like feeling, not only because of its tropical characteristics; the rustic setup is also to blame.

Furthermore, the villa's experiential flavor heightens the mood for your traditional beachside vacation.Everything about the property exudes bohemian chic energy, allowing you to connect with nature in ways you've never experienced before.The rooms have been designed with clean silhouettes and soothing color palettes, with windows overlooking the deep blue sea.
All three of the fully air-conditioned rooms have something to say. Two of the master bedrooms can be converted to accommodate three people in each room if the third person is a child under the age of thirteen. The remaining room is a large family room that can sleep up to four adults. The villa can sleep up to eight adults. One of the most important amenities is attached bathrooms, which are available in every room (outdoor showers included).

Greate location, we spent happy time there. Really high quality villa, everything is new. Staff did everything to make us feel as on luxury resort. Chef has been cooking really high level food, the best we tried in Sri Lanka. Definitely recommend to stay here and I hope we’ll return some day

Shady house was amazing. The staff is exceptional and attend to all your needs. The service was top notch, and it is actually the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Suranga, the manager is amazing and met all our needs. We asked for extra towels, adapters, laundry detergent and yogurt and he brought us everything. Also, he helped plan our itinerary and booked our whale watching excursion for us and our transportation as well. This was extremely helpful since there are many options in the area. The chef Akila, made us delicious meals. We loved the Sri Lankan dinner and breakfast. They also made us an English breakfast and were kind enough to make each of our eggs how we wanted. The house is SO beautiful. We got there in the night and as soon as we saw the pool, we jumped in. The beach is right behind the house so we also got to go there and from the house we can see pretty sunsets/sunrises. The view is remarkable. The entire staff is great, they provide turn down service which was super convenient. Also, we were 6 girls travelling and they have 24 hour security so we felt completely safe. Also, Chalana, was great and helpful. The entire house, service, aesthetic was well thought out and beautiful. You HAVE to stay here! We got high end service and the house was super clean and cozy. We didn’t want to leave and we miss the house. We will definitely be coming back here in the future.

Shady House is a must in your list if you are planning to stay near mirissa beach. Everything they offer may it be the food, the view, the privacy is just amazing! The staffs are so humble always up to assist you in any way possible!! What is not to like! One of the best stay till date!! It’s been a week we left this place but we have left a piece of our hearts here 💜💜

One of the best villas we have been to- would recommend it a 100%.
The food was just par excellence, like dining in an Michelin star restaurant.
The rooms were magnificent extremely comfortable and clean.
And the staff staff and service was beyond excellent
